چکیده
The paper is devoted to investigation of some properties of [L]-homotopy groups. It is proved, in particular, that for any finite CW -complex L, satisfying double inequality [S] < [L] ≤ [S], π [L] n (S) = Z. Here [L] denotes extension type of complex L and π [L] n (X) denotes n-th [L]-homotopy group of X .

Tame Homotopy Theory
space is said to be rational if its homotopy groups are rational vector spaces. Quillen has shown that up to homotopy there is a one-one correspondence between rational spaces and differential graded Lie algebras over 0. Call a two-connected space tame if the divisibility of its homotopy groups increases with dimension just quickly enough to prevent stable k-invariants from appearing. We will s...

We study the connection between the Goodwillie tower of the identity and the lower central series of the loop group on connected spaces. We define the simplicial theory of homotopy n-nilpotent groups. This notion interpolates between infinite loop spaces and loop spaces. We prove, that the set-valued algebraic theory obtained by applying π0 is the theory of ordinary n-nilpotent groups and that ...
متن کاملOn Proper Homotopy Theory for Noncompact S - Manifqldsc
Proper homotopy groups analogous to the usual homotopy groups are defined. They are used to prove, modulo the Poincare conjecture, that a noncompact 3-manifold having the proper homotopy type of a closed product F x [0, l] or a half-open product F X [O, 1) where F is a 2-manifold is actually homeomorphic to Fx [0, l] or F x [0, 1), respectively. By defining a concept for noncompact manifolds si...

This announcement describes new methods in the study and classification of differentiable, PI or topological manifolds with infinite fundamental group. If, for example, Y + l is a closed manifold with n^ = Gx *H G2, n> 4, there is a decomposition Y~YtUx Y2 with ir1(Yx) = G1,irl(Yl) = G2, itt(X) = H. For large classes of fundamental groups, the codimension one splitting theorems of [C3], extendi...

0.1. The Moore conjecture and the Barratt conjecture. The fundamental problem in homotopy theory is how to determine homotopy groups. People found that it is very difficult to compute homotopy groups of finite complexes. So then we intend to know what we can say about homotopy groups, that is, how to study properties of homotopy groups instead of explicit calculations. Two famous conjectures on...
